Standing Alone

Standing alone , bereft of company , I see a tree,
Tall , strong , thick skinned ..
Is this the impression , it wants me to see ??
A closer look and I find the wound ,
Peep down towards the roots ,
And the scars astound !!!!
Must be a near n dear one ,
Someone who could strike it so close ....
Prompted it to claim zenith, so it chose !!!
When nothing else seems to work left n right ,
You are left with no option but reach height!!
For , it's okay to flounder in turbid times nonetheless,
It's better to light a candle than to curse darkness .....
